2 day tour (Durres – Tirana – Kruje – Shkodra)

This tour will take us to Durres, one of Albania’s oldest cities (627 BC) and with the country’s biggest port. View the imposing Byzantine city ramparts, the Roman amphitheatre and visit the archaeological museum.

Tirana, the capital of Albania, is the most important political, economic and cultural centre in the country. Here we will view numerous ancient buildings and the largest archaeological collections in the National History Museum and the Archaeology Museum.

The medieval city of Kruja with its impressive fortress was once of immense strategic importance. Today’s most important city in northern Albania is Shkodra, situated on Skutari Lake and surrounded by wonderful countryside and the Buna, Drini and Kiri rivers. The ancient castle ruins of Rozafa with 800 metre long ramparts and towers lie atop a hill overlooking the river deltas.
