6 day tour (Tirana – Kruja – Durres – Vlora – Saranda – Butrint – Gjirokaster – Ardenica – Tirana)

After your first evening in Tirana we will visit Kruja, the picturesque birthplace of Gjergj Kastrioti Skanderbeg, Albania’s national hero. Here we will visit the Skanderbeg Museum and view the old fortress.

We then continue on to Durres, one of Albania’s oldest cities (627 BC) and with the country’s biggest port where we will view the imposing Byzantine city ramparts, the Roman amphitheatre and visit the archaeological museum.

Enjoy the breathtaking panorama views on the way to Saranda, passing by countless magical, small beaches. 15 kilometres to the south we will then reach Butrint with its important archaeological finds such as the Asklepios Temple, the Baptisterium, the Nymphaeum, the theatre and the legendary Lion’s Gate.

The city of Gjirokastra, known as The Stone City or The City of the Thousand Steps, is also most impressive with its majestic fortress and traditional houses. Before returning to Tirana, we will visit Ardenica and its medieval monastery.
